In the beginning...

... there was a list. And Natalie looked at the list, and it was good. But it wasn't finished.

It should be obvious to anyone who's ever met me that I am simultaneously and without exception "ambitiously goal-oriented" and "cripplingly procrastinating." Both descriptions fit in equal measure, and both can refer to personal, professional, academic, physical, metaphysical, artistic and culinary aspects of my life.

In a recent stroll through Google, I discovered this website. I was attempting to set some financial goals for myself (in fact, I think I was Googling "setting financial goals" when I found the site). Now the idea of coming up with 101 things I can conceivably accomplish in the next2.75 years sounds daunting but for the prospect of completing 101 goals in just 2.75 years!

I would like to invite friends and family to join me in creating their own lists of 101 goals to accomplish in the next 1001 days. (Realistically, I think there are 102 goals – the first is to create a list of 101 goals.) So if you wanna be my goalfriend, complete your list in time for my "In the Beginning" Party on Saturday, April 5, 2008. What's 1001 days from April 5, 2008? 1/1/11! As a bonus, treat yourself to a New Year's resolution free 2011! Take the year off!

So, it seems the manifestation of my "quarter-life crisis" is 101 reasons to light a fire under my ass. What a "crisis." I have my whole life ahead of me – except for the most awkward parts. Those thankfully, are over and done with.
